BROKE is a series created by Kim Fupz Aakesson with his usual flair for whacky characters, a handful of vaguely dysfunctional characters with many talents but a distinct inability to get their heads round their lives. Thomas (40) is a widower and Dion (40) is just out of prison. As the Toothfairy pressures Dion to pay back old depth, he drags Martin out of mourning, jumpstarting their old dream to open a restaurant. A dream soon to be invaded by gangsters, fathers, ratting, cheating and a low cash flow. But still, friendship and love seems to grow in this muddyfield of weed and gravel. It is a character driven series, at motley crew to say the least. None of them are normal. Or is normal actually exactly what they are? Key points: - American remake version is called "Feed the Beast" from 2016 with David Schwimmer and Jim Sturgess in leading roles. - Created by Kim Fupz Aakeson (Utmark, Becoming Astrid, Cold Pursuit, Cry Wolf). - Season 1 consists of 8 episodes, airing in 2014. - Season 2 consists of 8 episodes, airing in 2015. - Average share: 19 %.
