On social media, 21-year-old Asta’s life seems lavish and perfect. But in reality, she is short on cash and needs a job fast if she wants to return to her life in Copenhagen — far away from the isolated family home she is forced to return to. Doggystyle takes place in a small town in Denmark, which is populated by quirky and relatable characters. After building a life for herself in the Danish capital, Asta reluctantly returns home on a “temporary” visit to stay with her family in the countryside. What is waiting for her is a strange reunion filled with unexpected encounters with family and new as well as old friends. People from her pre-city life, the locals that never chased the same urban dream as she did, reappear in her life and force her to confront her prejudices.
