Ride Upon the Storm explores good and evil and the spiritual journey towards seeking a greater meaning in life – because we all want to believe in something when a storm is approaching. The story centers around the Krogh family – a legacy of priests going back 250 years. The family consists of the Pastor, Johannes, who is married to high school teacher, Elisabeth. They have two sons, Christian and August The Krogh family are embarking on turbulent times, where everyone experiences how their lives change dramatically, and where they are all challenged on their personal beliefs and values. Is it God’s will, karma, fate or just random occurrences? It is a question of faith. In season 2, its one and a half years after August’s death, a changed Krogh family tries to find its way back to everyday life. But how do you move on in life when you have lost someone dear? Right beneath the surface, there are secrets and lies that threaten to tear apart the family. Johannes has become self-destructive in a highly dangerous manner. Elisabeth has delved into the spiritual world to make contact with August. Emilie is filled with anger, but she gradually comes to realize that love is perhaps the only thing that can release her. Christian works more than he ever has before and has achieved considerable success with a new book and the company Open Mind, which he runs with his girlfriend Amira. But behind the facade lurks an intense feeling of guilt about not having been his brother’s keeper in the crucial moment.
