Generations

World Premiere at Series Mania in the International Competition

DR Drama's new series Generations is set to thrill audiences at Series Mania (March 21-28), where it will have its world premiere and compete in the prestigious International Competition. A powerful family drama series, Generations (6 x 58') intertwines crime, mystery, and deep emotional stakes, unraveling the complexities of a family’s legacy across several generations. When a mummified infant's body is uncovered during renovations in a Copenhagen apartment, 87-year-old Martha unexpectedly confesses to the crime. This startling admission sparks an investigation that unearths long-buried family secrets, revealing the lasting consequences of choices made long ago and their profound impact on the family’s future. The series is the creation of the talented Anna Emma Hausdal (The Venus Effect, Doggystyle), with direction by Thomas Daneskov (Wild Men) and Ville Gideon Sörman. The cast features standout performances by Anette Støvelbæk (The New Nurses, Seaside Hotel), Alice Bier (Ehrengard: The Art of Seduction), Ulla Henningsen, and Rikke Eberhardt Isen. Produced by Mie Andreasen and Birgitte Rask for DR Drama, this team brings a gripping and evocative vision to the screen. The 6 x 58' series will air on DR1 in Spring 2025, with expected international delivery August 1. The series is part of the new collaboration New8 – a partnership between public service broadcasters NRK, SVT, RUV, YLE, NPO, VRT, DR, and ZDF.
