WINGMAN is a powerful documentary about Jeppe, a man with cerebral palsy, whose identity has been intertwined with his best friends, Kåre and David, for 13 years. Unable to speak, Jeppe’s voice has always been theirs, through a system they created together. Kåre and David are not just friends—they are Jeppe’s lifeline to the world. But now, everything is shifting. Jeppe's lifelong dream comes true when he is invited to speak at a major conference in Mexico. But just as his moment arrives, both Kåre and David back out, overwhelmed by their own adult responsibilities. Jeppe, faced with this devastating blow, realizes that his friends cannot always be there for him, as they once were. A profound sense of self-loss washes over him, yet he cannot voice his darkest thoughts to the two people he depends on most. In a courageous move, Jeppe takes control of his story. For the first time, he directs his own voice for the documentary, revealing the deep, unspoken truths he has kept hidden. The film reaches a heart-stopping climax when Jeppe shows the final cut to Kåre and David—who, for the first time, hear his true voice without their words.
